Cash rebate
Colombia's cash rebate scheme for foreign productions.
35%
of the amount spent in Colombia on film and logistics services, reimbursed in cash
What the Colombian cash rebate is
Law 1556 of 2012 established a rebate scheme for foreign production companies shooting in Colombia. The foreign producer contracts production services with a registered Colombian company, and part of the local spend is reimbursed in cash by the Colombian State.
How much is rebated
The scheme offers rebates of up to 35% of the amount spent in Colombia on film and logistics services. Under the CINA scheme (Audiovisual Investment Certificate), the benefit is structured differently and allows for tax offsets.
How we work with the cash rebate
Tonal is a Colombian company registered with Proimágenes Colombia. We structure the operation from the earliest stages to maximise eligibility, run the shoot, certify the expenditure and manage the payout from the fund.
