Who we are
Tonal is an audiovisual production company based in Bogotá, devoted to producing and co-producing fiction films, documentaries, television series and commissioned content. We work with directors who favour an auteur's vision and with technical crews with long careers in Latin American production. Our work has screened at festivals in Istanbul, Cannes Continental, Dubai and the International Matrix Festival, and has been funded by Colombia's Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies.
How we work
We favour medium- and long-term co-productions, where the relationship between producer and director has room to build a point of view. In fiction we work with scripts developed in-house or with trusted screenwriters. In documentary we focus on long-term research into historical events, territorial change and characters with a life arc.
Services for third parties
Beyond our own productions, we provide executive production and line production services to international companies shooting in Colombia, including management of the cash rebate scheme established by Law 1556 of 2012.
Partners
We regularly co-produce with Colombia's Ministry of Culture, the ICT Ministry (through the FUTIC fund), Proimágenes Colombia, and partner production companies in Colombia and abroad. We have a technical partnership with GTC Ingeniería for projects with a field or industrial component.
