Synopsis

Cuba, 1988. Horacio Romero, the country's top boxer, has just failed a doping test. His punishment: Los Cocos, a military-run sanatorium where people with HIV are interned by force and allowed out only once a week, under the watch of their "companions".

Horacio becomes one of them, and the small freedoms of Daniel, the most troublesome patient, now depend on him. Daniel wants to live his last days free and will do anything to get there. Horacio wants to get back in the ring, and for that he has to strike a deal. It is a fight outside the ring, against an opponent he was never trained for.
